Kalina Rangers was initially formed in 1982 as a community-based football team from Kalina, Mumbai. After a brief period of dormancy, the club was revived in 2016, bringing back its legacy and redefining grassroots football in the region.
Kalina Rangers’ resurgence saw immediate success. They dominated local tournaments and quickly rose to become a formidable force in national-level 5-a-side, 7-a-side, and futsal tournaments. Their victories earned them repeated invitations to Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five World Finals, where they represented India in Brazil, and other global events across Qatar, South Africa, China, the Philippines, and England.

I was in tears when we won the final. For my family, the technicalities don’t matter — just the fact that we were representing India was emotional.
